NEC Electronics Europe announces the launch of its new Low Pin Count Microcontroller Online Forum

NEC Electronics Europe today announced the launch of its new Low Pin Count (LPC) Microcontroller online forum. The new web forum is dedicated to NEC Electronics' 78K0S 8-bit LPC range of microcontrollers, development tools, and related hardware and software products. Users from all over Europe can engage with each other at a technical level to discuss their experiences and gain valuable information about NEC Electronics' low pin count products.

The forum www.lowpincount.com is a comprehensive and easy-to-use website inviting users to participate and express their views on NEC Electronics’ low pin count devices. The forum is aimed at users wishing to discuss issues on NEC Electronics’ LPC devices and tools. Once the registration process is complete, it allows users to create threads/topics or they can simply choose the topic they would like to discuss. There are three main areas split by LPC general, LPC peripherals and development tools.

Furthermore, users can browse the website; learn more about NEC Electronics’ range of LPC devices, download documentation, ask questions relating to LPC devices and post comments. As well as allowing members to take advantage of its features, the forum also acts as an LPC library where all information can be accessed from one place.

To celebrate the launch of this interactive forum NEC Electronics is giving away 25 LPC DO IT! Starter kits to 25 lucky registered members. DO IT! contains everything required to begin creating software for low pin count devices. The kit comes with the µPD78F9222, 20-pin, 4Kbytes Flash device and a free code-size limited copy of IAR’s Embedded Workbench software development kit. A free flash programmer is also included on the CD-ROM and users will also benefit from faster programming over a USB link with the host PC.
