NEC launches new, small, high-power SPDT and SP3T GaAs switches for mobile communication

Düsseldorf, February 20, 2004 — 20 Feb 2004

NEC Electronics (Europe) is offering new µPG2027TQ SPDT and µPG2026TQ SP3T L-band GaAs switches for digital cellular or cordless telephone applications. The devices operate from 500 MHz to 2 GHz and feature high input power capability and excellent 2nd and 3rd harmonics performance.

Both switches offer high and stable isolation of 24 dB/25 dB between 0.5 GHz and 1 GHz and 18 dB/18.5 dB between 1 GHz and 2 GHz and a very high maximum input power capability of +38 dBm.

Insertion losses are 0.45/0.4 dB between 0.5 GHz and 1 GHz and 0.6 dB/0.5 dB between 1 GHz and 2 GHz.

The 2nd harmonics (2f0) value of the µPG2026TQ SP3T switch is 73 dBc@1 GHz, Pin = +33 dBm/+35 dBm and the 3rd harmonics (3f0) value is 73 dBc@2 GHz, Pin = +33 dBm/+35 dBm compared with +70 dBc for both harmonics of the µPG2027TQ SPDT switch for the same measurement conditions.

Both devices are supplied in a small 10-pin TSON package (2.55 x 2.4 x 0.6 mm, 0.4 mm pitch) to allow for high-density surface mounting in mass production.

Thanks to features such as higher input power capability, low insertion loss, high isolation, small package size and fast switching, the µPG2026TQ/µPG2027TQ switches are ideal for all high performance/small size applications. The switches can also be used in other applications that require switching from 1 input port to 2 output ports (µPG2027TQ) or from 1 input port to 3 output ports (µPG2026TQ).

Samples are available on request.
