NEC Electronics Europe Exhibits at SPS / IPC / DRIVES 2007

NEC Electronics Europe today announced its participation in the «SPS / IPC / DRIVES 2007» exhibition being held November 27 – 29 at the Nuremberg Messe. The NEC Electronics booth will be featuring the company’s solutions for Profinet, industrial motor control and HMIs.

In Hall 6, Booth 261 NEC Electronics will showcase their latest Enhanced Real Time Ethernet Controller (ERTEC) range along with solutions for industrial motor control. Visitors will be able to interact with an integrated industrial automation and motor control demonstration unit that networks together multiple Profinet nodes and interoperates with standard off-the-shelf Profinet control products.

1. NEC Electronics product line includes flagship products for industrial networking. NEC Electronics is the only independent semiconductor provider for the Enhanced Real Time Ethernet Controller (ERTEC) that supports all levels of Profinet functionality from simple non real time communications to the hard real time requirements used in Isochronous Real Time (IRT) applications. Two devices are available including the ERTEC200 with 2 Ethernet ports and on-chip PHYs and the ERTEC400 with 4 Ethernet ports. The microcontroller portfolio also includes automotive grade F Series CAN controllers that can be used in “Controller area Network (CAN)” based industrial networking.

2. NEC Electronics has also recognised the rapid popularity of the IO-Link sensor networking protocol. It’s V850 H and J series 32-bit microcontrollers offer users up to 8 UARTs making it ideal for multi-port IO-Link master applications. For device or slave applications NEC Electronics also offers 78K0 8-bit and 78K0R 16-bit microcontrollers that are capable of running the IO-Link protocol. Many customers are combining the ERTEC device with a V850 microcontroller to deliver a combined Remote IO Module application capable of communicating over Profinet and IO-Link together. In addition optocoupler, power MOSFET products, and TFT display panels as well as other discretes that can complete a customer’s solution all from a single semiconductor vendor are provided.

3. NEC Electronics and NEC LCD Technologies have identified a growing demand for small, portable display products in industrial markets. Responding to this development NEC combines the advantage of their proprietary Natural Light TFT Technology (NLT) and the usage of white light emitting diodes (LED) for the backlight system to guarantee perfect visibility in all outdoor light environment, low power consumption and high resistance against shock and vibration. NEC Electronics recently started the mass production for NL10276BC13-01C (6.5” XGA, ST-NLT, LED LCD TFT and NL2432HC22-41K (3.5” WQVGA, SR-NLT, LED LCD TFT).
