Microcontrollers

We will show latest innovations in general purpose and application-specific microcontollers. These will include the newly announced V850ES/Jx3-L which combines 32-bit performance with market-leading power consumption, as well as the latest developments for next generation user interface technologies, including touch-screen TFT control and speech synthesis using a 78K0R/Kx3 16-bit microcontroller, and multi-platform wireless communication.

Optocoupler

NEC Electronics presents their line-ups of IC Output Optocouplers for industrial High Speed Communications and isolated drive of IGBT gates or IPM’s.
In particular NEC Electronics introduces their new range of opto-isolation products in SDIP packages providing an ideal solution to reduce mounting space while keeping the high level of isolation characteristics.

Displays

This year we will exhibit new trends in the industrial area such as displays with wide aspect ratio (16:10), LED backlight technology and of course we will demonstrate the completion of our product portfolio of sunlight readable displays (NLT Technology) as well as of modules with ultra-large viewing angles (SFT Technology). We will also have a few brand-new, exciting products on show combining these features and stimulating ideas for new markets and applications.

Power Management Devices (PMD)

To further strengthen its automotive semiconductor business, beside the well established PowerMOSFET products for chassis and powertrain applications among others, NEC Electronics Europe presents its intelligent power device (IPD) family uPD166xxx for use in on-board electronic control units (ECUs) supporting body module and lighting applications. A specific switching control function limits rapid fluctuations in output current, and thereby reduces electromagnetic noise and improves ECU performance, while a current-sensing function detects overcurrent and overheating. Support for theses features enables an accurate grasp of the output status and the detection of abnormalities.

Major focus will be put on NEC Electronics capabilities with regard to the design and development of highly-sophisticated Systems-on-Chip based on the ARM architecture. Come and discover our development platforms for ARM Systems: The Stater Kit, for ARM7, the “AMY” ARM9E development board featuring both ARM926 and ARM946 within one single chip to evaluate different hardware configuration, and the ARM11 MP Core board for the latest technology.

Everything you need to evaluate powerful chip solutions. Furthermore our latest technology such as 55nm as well as various examples of successful ASIC implementations including SiP, integration of analogue function blocks like high-speed serial interfaces (SerDes), 10/100M Ethernet PHYs, Analogue-to-Digital converters (ADCs) and Digital-to-Analogue converters (DACs) will be shown. Also Gate Array ASICs, which are still the workhorse for easy and cost-efficient logic design implementation will be presented.

Industrial

As well as product technologies, Industrial solutions will also be prominent with a demonstration of NEC Electronics' enhanced real-time Ethernet control solutions for automation and networked drives based on the unique ERTEC isochronous real-time Ethernet controller and the latest techniques for sensorless vector control of 3-phase motors.
