ARM-based System Architecture

arm_poweredNEC Electronics is not only a licensee of ARM CPU and IP cores but has also built-up a deep architectural know-how in ARM-based systems. On the one hand side, this know-how covers the understanding of the ARM architecture as such, meaning the interaction of the CPU core with other IP cores within the system via the different AMBA-bus systems, i.e. AHB and APB busses and on the other hand there's is the know-how to build up such complex systems in line with customer requirements.

Within the European Technology Center of NEC Electronics, the local European architectural and systematical know-how to design and verify complex ARM-based systems on chip is available.

Please find below some example block diagrams of systems designed, verified and realized in silicon by NEC Electronics.

The systems represent the ARM946E-S system architectures as already successfully implemented within the well-known ERTEC200 and ERTEC400 real-time Ethernet controller devices.
